MTNL Launches Bullet Unlimited Broadband Plans; Pay As Per Usage

Follow Us

We missed  this earlier but MTNL Mumbai has launched new Bullet plans offering interesting high speed plans with FUP and unlimited data. The plans start at Rs 1,111 for 2Mbps speed and go up to Rs 1,444 per month for a speed up to 10Mbps.

Plan NameMonthly ChargesSpeed(Download/Upload)Free Data UsageAdditional Data Usage Charges
Bullet 1111Rs. 11112 Mbps/768Kbps up to 250 GB33 GBRs. 18 per GB till 250 GB and Unlimited free at 1Mbps/768Kbps afterwards
Bullet 1333Rs. 13338 Mbps/2Mbps up to 250 GB33 GBRs. 18 per GB till 250 GB and Unlimited free at 1Mbps/ 768 Kbps afterwards
Bullet 1444Rs. 144410Mbps/5Mbps up to 250 GB33 GBRs. 18 per GB till 250 GB and Unlimited free at 1Mbps/768 Kbps afterwards

What's weird about these plans is the structure and pricing. For example the Rs 1,111 monthly plan allows users to download 250GB at 2Mbps speed, of which 33GB is free. After 33GB user has to pay Rs 18/GB until you reach 250GB FUP. If you exhaust even 250GB, you'll be then  receive a speed of 1Mbps free of cost.

To do the maths, for the Rs 1,111 plan with 250GB limit, you are going to be paying [(250-33)*18] + 1111 = Rs 5,041  per month,  if you are someone who will consumer 250GB, which does not seem value for money. At lower speed these plans are not interesting, however, at high speed these plans start making sense. Additionally you only pay for what you use.

Do let us know what you think of these plans and would you opt for these. You can find these plans here.
