Many flagship lovers are now eyeing a global launch, including in India. After its China launch, OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 16 in India by the second week of November 2026.
It will compete with flagships like Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro models, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, and the recently launched Oppo Find X10. If you are looking to upgrade to a new flagship this year, here are the top 3 reasons to wait for the OnePlus 16.
1. OnePlus 16 is Set to Get Flagship-Grade Specs at a Lower Price
If you’re looking for a 2026 flagship upgrade, the OnePlus 16 will bring top-of-the-line hardware, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, faster LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage.
On the front, you’ll get a larger 6.78-inch 185Hz OLED panel. On the rear, the OnePlus 16 5G is speculated to feature a 200MP main camera sensor and a 9000mAh battery. This makes it a great flagship combination for the price.
Compared with the OnePlus 16’s China launch price, the OnePlus 16 India price is speculated to start at Rs 89,900 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
For higher storage and RAM, you can opt for the 12GB RAM, 512GB storage variant, speculated to be priced around Rs 1,07,999.
The top-end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is speculated to cost Rs 1,22,999 in India.
In contrast, other flagships like the recently launched Oppo Find X10 5G are priced at Rs 1,39,999.
The Apple iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900, while the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at Rs 1,39,999.
2. OnePlus 16 is Set to Get a Major Camera Upgrade This Year
The OnePlus 16 flagship is drawing attention for its camera this year. The new OnePlus flagship killer for 2026 is expected to have a larger 200MP main camera sensor and a 1/1.4-inch rear image sensor.

On pricing, the OnePlus 16 will compete with other flagships, including the Oppo Find X10, which comes with a 200MP main, a 200MP telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide.
At this price, the OnePlus 16 will have the edge, despite having a 50MP telephoto sensor.
As OnePlus moves to ColorOS 17 with this flagship, we can expect software upgrades that previous OnePlus flagships missed with OxygenOS, especially on the camera front.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra also gets a premium 200MP rear camera sensor, while the Apple iPhone 18 Pro has a 48MP variable-aperture camera lens.
On pricing, the OnePlus 16 could make a strong entry in price-sensitive markets like India.
3. OnePlus 16 to Get a Bigger Battery Over Its Competition

With the bigger battery, OnePlus drops wired charging from 120W on the OnePlus 15 to 100W on the OnePlus 16.
While competitors like the Oppo Find X10 get a bigger 8000mAh battery, other flagship smartphones like the Oppo Find X10 5G also get an 8000mAh battery, with 80W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging support.
Other flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra have a 5000mAh battery, with 60W faster wired charging and 25W wireless charging.
The Apple iPhone 18 Pro packs a 4056mAh battery that charges from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes with 60W wired charging, plus 25W Qi2 wireless charging.
This makes the OnePlus 16 stand out with a larger battery and a faster, more efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
