MTNL Launches Fun Day Offer – FREE 2 Mbps Broadband on Every Sunday

In their bid to distinctly celebrate their 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee Year 2011) Mumbai’s number one Broadband and telecom service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced “Free 2 Mbps Broadband Bonanza” dubbed as Sunday is MTNL Fun Day! and Double Upload Speed for its Broadband subscribers.

Free 2 Mbps Speed on Sunday !

With the “Sunday is MTNL Fun Day! Offer, MTNL will provide Free 2 Mbps Downloading Speed to all Unlimited Broadband (Triband) Plan subscribers in Mumbai telecom circle. The “Sunday is Fun Day offer” will be valid or available for all Sunday in the Month of April i.e. 3rd April, 10th April, 17th April and 24th April 2011.

Double Upload Speed (512 Kbps) for all Subscribers:

Keeping plan charges same, MTNL also increased Upload Speed for its broadband subscribers in any tariff plan (Limited and Unlimited). Earlier broadband upload speed was 256 Kbps which is now doubled to 512 Kbps. This will enable faster upload and High Speed data sharing on Internet. So Now Double Upload Speed at Same Price for all. The Free double upload speed will be valid up to 3 months form 1 April 2011.

Speaking with the TelecomTalk, Mr. Peeyush Agrawal Excutive Director, MTNL, Mumbai Circle, said “MTNL is No.1 Broadband service provider in Mumbai. Since commencement of this service we are providing high class Broadband service experience to our customers at affordable prices. In order to provide more customer friendly service to our broadband customers, We are doubling the upload speed from 256 kbps to 512 kbps for all broadband subscribers without any charges for a period of 3 months.

MTNL also providing 3G enabled Prepaid GSM connection for just Rs.10 with free talk time worth Rs.91 and lots of freebies. Similar offer is already available for customer willing to join MTNL network from other service provider under MNP without number change.”

MTNL is only Broadband service provider in Mumbai circle which offers Truly Unlimited Broadband Plans without any Fair Usage Policy (FUP) starting from Rs.395.

This is the thing I wanted from MTNL. Actually MTNL is the cheapest broadband provider in our city. I use Airtel broadband because of superior service but I think this is great for MTNL users. Goodluck.

Still no increase in upload and download speed. More than half day is over, lost hope in getting it now.

Lucky fella, still waiting, missed the first sunday, but I have experienced this speed while had their 849 night time free package , right now I have their 495 Combo 320kbps package.

I got a good speed on first sunday of around 250 kbps but today its maximum 140-150 kbps but upload has improved.

The way they giving this extra speed to all the subscribers, all Sundays will be over and many won’t be getting it seems. I myself didn’t get this extra download speed nor the upload speed.

still no 512k dunno what to do, guys at 1504 have no idea and they asked me to call on 24361249 which is their nox no and guess what, they too donot know about any 512k they are suppose to give

MTNL always brings offers without any extra charges while other operator bring offer with some conditions of recharge or subscription. Mumbai people u r lucky

Well guys sorry 2 say but im having a bad experience wid mtnl triband

I am using DSL combo 495 plan which give me speed of 320kbps n i use 2 get an idle speed of 39-40kbps vich is accepted. But just 2-3 days ago der was sum problem n d speed was minimize 2 25-34kbps. Now I lodge d complaint but as usual der was no response, so i had 2 go 2 exchange 2 hav clarification abt d issue, wen i told d person der abt d issue he said d speed tht ur getting now is rite n just becoz v were giving customer a goodwill bandwidth of 64kbps(i.e 320+64=384kbps whose idle speed would b 48 kbps) u were having 40kbps speed, den he said that v hav stopped giving d extra bandwidth n now u will get speed according 2 ur plan. But wen I told the idle speed for a 320kbps is 40kbps he said no1 get idle speed u usually get a 80% speed(new concept i hav heard of) of your plan.
But dis also doesn’t satisfy the condition
384kbps idle speed 48kbps 80% of speed is around 38.4kbps
320kbps idle speed 40kbps 80% of speed is around 32kbps
D 1st equation contradicts d speed of 40kbps tht i use 2 get since i bought dis plan
So now sud i expect a speed of 32kbps is tht it

This offer has been in march bcoz all of a sudden my speed on the last 2 sundays have increased and i have till now downloaded 33gb my regular use being 12gb per month

from Last 2 weeks BSNL Broadband, EVDO JK is running VERY SLOW….. before 2 weeks bsnl BB speed is near about 8Mbps… and now 512kbps (Normal 250 Plan) and about EVDO it gives 2mbps now 512kbps…….. BSNL Jago

MTNL Mumbai always bring some Initiative in their broadband plans as many are surrendering their land lines now a days..

But MTNL Mumbai is just ignoring their Mobile subscribers since last one year, we are excepting roaming voucher so that we can roam at 1ps/sec or 0.50ps/min from roaming BSNL network.. Recently MTNL reduced roaming charges for data charges of 3G & 2G plan that is 1ps/10kb..

So if MTNL Mumbai can reduce data charges from roaming also, then why voice calls from roaming network can’t be reduced??

I truly agree with you. MTNL is the best internet service provider without any complaints. I am using 1 MBPS Unlimited Plan. Waiting for Sundays-Fundays. Thanks.@patil
