Vodafone Idea Partners With Shemaroo to Offer Exclusive Content in Regional Languages

Content offerings have been the telecom operators’ secondary way of competing in the intensely competitive market. Only a year ago, the operators did not have so many choices to offer when it came to text, audio and video content. However, now things have taken a quick turn in the last few months. To give a boost to its already existing offering, Vodafone Idea, the leading telecom operator of India has announced an exclusive content partnership with Shemaroo Entertainment’s newly launched video streaming service – ShemarooMe. The content partnership will allow the subscribers of Vodafone Play and Idea Movies and TV app to have full access to Shemaroo’s content library across Bollywood, Devotion, Kids and more genres.




Wide Range of Gujarati Content

The content partnership with ShemarooMe will bring a lot of unique offerings in Gujarati. The content will span across genres like Movies, shows, music, plays, devotional, kids. The partnership will offer fans of Gujarati 400+ latest Gujarati Nataks, blockbuster movies and much more through ShemarooMe. The offerings will also include movies like Chhello Divas, Gujjubhai the Great, Sharto Lagu, Natsamrat, Thai Jashe, and plays like Gujjubhai Banya Dabang, Mari wife Mary Kom, Gujjubhai ni Golmaal and many more.

About the new content partnership, Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Idea Limited said, “We are excited to partner with Shemaroo Entertainment to provide rich, curated content across genres to our customers. Through this partnership, our customers will get access to the best quality Gujarati content on the Vodafone Play and Idea Movies and TV apps exclusively. Our endeavour is to provide our customers with authentic entertainment keeping in mind their consumption pattern, culture and language preferences.” Adding to his words and talking about the role of regional content, the executive said, “We believe that video and regional content will be the key differentiator and its consumption will grow rapidly in the coming years, more so in the Gujarat market because of its affinity for watching Gujarati plays. We have been working towards strengthening our content offering, and this partnership is a step further towards enriching our content portfolio.”

ShemarooMe Content to be Available on Vodafone Play and Idea Movies & TV

It is worth noting that these content offerings will be available on the Vodafone Play app or the Idea Movies and TV app. Hiren Gada, CEO, Shemaroo Entertainment Limited also remarked about the new partnership, “We are delighted to partner with Vodafone Idea.
