Vivo V11 Pro Picks Up 4K Video Recording Option via OTA Update

Vivo’s V11 Pro is now receiving a new over-the-air (OTA) update in India which adds 4K video recording option. The V11 Pro was launched earlier this month in India at a price of Rs 25,990 and the device shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch 4.5. However, the device didn’t have the option of recording 4K videos, which was underwhelming and several users expressed their disappointment on social media portals regarding the lack of an important feature. Other smartphones in the similar price range such as Nokia 7 Plus, Xiaomi Poco F1, Honor Play, all offered 4K video recording functionality.

Vivo V11 Pro 4K Recording Functionality Added After Feedback from Users

The Vivo V11 Pro is a mid-range smartphone sporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. While the hardware of the smartphone supports 4K video recording, Vivo did not add the functionality out of the box. Thankfully, Vivo has added the feature. In other news, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro also doesn’t have support for 4K video recording and the company is yet to enable the feature, which is underwhelming. Even the cheaper Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones offer 4K video recording. Hopefully, Xiaomi also adds 4K video recording to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The software update is rolling out via OTA, but not everyone will receive the update right away because it’s a staged rollout.
