The phone was launched yesterday, on August 6 and surprisingly it comes with many impressive features and hardware onboard. The Honor Play has been titled to be “crazy fast and crazy smart” and the capability to execute comes from the in-house manufactured Kirin 970 which is an octa-core processor packing four cores at 2.5GHz. The phone also comes paired with 4GB or 6GB RAM which provides enough memory for smooth operations and multi-tasking. Both the variants ship with 64GB of internal storage and there’s a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Dedicated NPU for AI
To righteously empower AI based features on the devices, Honor has shipped the Honor Play with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The NPU helps the device in better optimising the applications for battery usage, and the AI enhancements further add to the performance. GPU Turbo is Huawei’s (parent company of Honor) proprietary technology which has been claimed by the company to notch up the performance by 60% and reduce power consumption by 30%. The Honor Play also comes with many AI additions which will help games run smoothly on the phone apart from providing vibration feedback while gaming.

Capable Cameras
In this budget price point, Honor ships a dual rear camera setup of 16MP+2MP. On the front also, the Honor Play comes with a 16MP shooter which comes with AI enhancements. The camera is able to shoot 4K videos in 30fps which is an impressive feat given that the phone only costs Rs 19,999.

Honor Play packs a 3750mAh powerful package which would help the device get through the day or last even more. Given that the handset also comes with GPU Turbo technology and AI-based features for optimisations, it is quite possible that the device will fare well in terms of power and will be worthwhile for the users.

The Honor Play is up for grabs on Amazon exclusively with the price point of Rs 19,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant and Rs 23,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant. The colour options on this one include – Midnight Black and Navy Blue. Both the variants come with a hybrid SIM slot and provide space for storage expansion up to 256GB using an SD card.
