Designed by the National Informatics Centre, the app will make the Do Not Disturb (DND) activation and complaint services seamless depending on various SMS codes. There is already a helpline existing for purpose at 1909.

"The app is called DND Services. It is available on Google Play and Mobile Seva app store now, and soon will be available for Apple's iO. It is done keeping in mind consumer interest. It will make the complaining process easier," announced TRAI Chairman R.S. Sharma. As mentioned, it is now available only for Android OS.

On the app, a subscriber can register/deregister his number for DND. There is an option to file a complaint against a particular number or an SMS sender. There is also a ‘Help’ and ‘FAQ’ section, where one can find answer for most of the queries related to DND. The app works through SMS permission. TT found the app little shoddy in terms of its user interface.

Private players, especially the Jio self-care app offers 'DND switch' on My Account section. Unlike other operators, Jio is inquiring customers about DND registration or deregistration during the SIM activation itself.
