Xiaomi Redmi K30 is already confirmed to be in the works by the Chinese company, but we’re not sure about the launch date. A new report now says the Redmi K30 will come powered by a flagship MediaTek chipset along with 5G support. The success of Redmi Note 8 Pro in global markets and the Chinese market is making the partnership between MediaTek and Redmi even stronger. Xiaomi took a risk by choosing Helio G90T chipset for the Redmi Note 8 Pro and it paid off very well as the phone is probably the best gaming device under Rs 15,000 right now in India. By choosing the Helio G90T, Xiaomi also managed to add other important features like liquid cooling, HDR display, IP52 rating and so on to the Note 8 Pro. The Redmi K30 will come with 5G support and MediaTek already has a 5G chipset in the flagship SoC segment.

Redmi K30 May Have MediaTek’s Unnamed 5G Chipset
The information regarding Redmi K30 using a MediaTek chipset comes from Digital chat station who is a Weibo user. Redmi already confirmed the K30 would have 5G support and punch-hole display, similar to the Galaxy S10 series of phones. For the unaware, MediaTek already announced a 5G chipset with 5G modem built right into the chipset. The 5G chipset from MediaTek is built on 7nm manufacturing process with Cortex A77 cores and Mali-G77 GPU. To recall, ARM announced the said cores and GPU back in May this year and they’re the powerful ones from the house of ARM right now. That said, MediaTek is yet to name its 5G chipset.
