OnePlus has returned to growth in India. The brand had struggled in the past with selling via offline retailers, who complained that there's just not enough margins for them to keep stocking the devices and selling them. But since then, these issues have largely been resolved, suggests a statement from Sanyam Chaurasia, principal analyst at Omdia.

Chaurasia said, "OnePlus returned to growth after rebuilding ties with mainline retail, supported by strong offline response to the OnePlus 15 series. Motorola and Nothing continued their selective offline expansion, focusing on high-traffic stores with targeted promoter deployment."
This is right in the quarter when OnePlus launched the OnePlus 15 in India followed by OnePlus 15R in December 2025. Omdia recently came out with data for device shipments in India in Q4 of 2025 (December 2025 quarter). Now as per the data, Vivo is ranked top in India after shipping over 7.9 million units and a 23% share, followed by Samsung in the second with 4.9 million units and a 14% share. Vivo's share is just too far for any other brand to catch.

In the third, fourth and fifth rank were OPPO (4.6 million units and 13% share), Xiaomi (4.2 million units and 12% share), and Apple (3.9 million units and 11% share). Amongst all the brands, only Vivo and OPPO were the ones to deliver a double-digit year-on-year growth. Vivo saw growth in shipments due to the strong performance of Y31 5G, Y19s 5G, T4X 5G, and V60e.
It will be interesting to see what the data is for Q1 2026. The brands are shifting strategies, delaying or preponing launches. Brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and more have already launched new phones in the first few days of 2026. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 15 in India and it is targeting the mass market through this device.
