This is not the first time NOMU is stirring news in the smartphone market. After the successful NOMU S10 introduced last year, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is now working on its successor, dubbed as the NOMU S10 Pro.
According to a press release by the company, on Thursday, the new NOMU S10 Pro is expected to feature an improved RAM and internal storage and run on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Although the S10 Pro will sport a similar design to its predecessor, NOMU claims that this new smartphone is packed with features such as waterproof rating that surpasses that of the old IP68 Standard.
Generally, a smartphone rated at IP68 can withstand water immersion of 1.5 meters up to 30 minutes. However, the new NOMU S10 Pro is certified with the IP69 rating and can be immersed underwater up to 2.0 meter for more than an hour.
The new NOMU S10 Pro is said to be made available in the market in early October. For NOMU’S fans and potential customers, the company has also worked on a new website.
To recall, the NOMU S10 sports a 5.0-inch display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels) with Gorilla Glass 3 coating on top for screen protection. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek 1.5GHz processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with an expandable storage of up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.
As for the software, the device runs on the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. On the camera front, the S10 features an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-camera for selfies. The handset supports dual-SIM compatibility and is backed by a huge 5000mAh battery.
