MTNL & Mumbai Police Launches “Travel Safe When Alone” Women Helpline – 9969777888

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd ( MTNL) has launched  Travel Safe When Alone Helpline for Womens  in collaboration with Mumbai Police.

MTNL and Mumbai Police’s SMS based service “Travel Safe When Alone” is specially launched for safety of women when traveling alone or during odd hours in Mumbai.

As the crime against women is increasing day by day, this SMS based service will allow any person to send the information about taxi/auto number etc through SMS to 9969777888 (accessible from all networks).

The Information sent through SMS will be stored in MTNL Mumbai’s server for one year. In the eventuality of mishap, the stored information will be used by the Mumbai Police for further investigation.
