Finally here is a great news for MTNL Mobile customers in Mumbai, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced the extension of Validity for its SMS Packs, subscribed by its prepaid customers during the SMS Ban or 5 SMS Per Day regulation period.

MTNL customers who has subscribed monthly SMS Pack of Rs.30 and Rs.97 during the SMS Ban Period can enjoy their free SMSes bundled with respective SMS Packs for extra 15 Days like their SMS Packs will be valid up to 15 days after the 31st August, 2012 the last date of SMS Ban. Apart from the SMS Pack of Rs.30 and Rs.97, MTNL suspended its Daily SMS Pack of Rs.5 till the 31st August, 2012.

This moves full-fill its tag-line - MTNL hai to Sahi hai and make MTNL the first operator to publicly offer Free validity extension due to SMS ban.The SMS ban was imposed by Govt of India on August 17th,  to curb spread of rumours which has led to exodus of North Eastern people from certain parts of country, had already created many confusion among SMS users who opted for SMS pack if they will get the refund or not but this move from MTNL is a big relief for its subscribers.

We hope other operators will also follow the same in the coming days .
