Lenovo owned Motorola is working on several phones to launch in 2019. The company is said to launch Moto G7 in February possibly before the Mobile World Congress. Under the Moto G7 series, the company is said to bring four phones including Moto G7, G7 Plus, G7 Play and G7 Power. Alongside the G7 series, Motorola is seemingly working on a P series phone too. This phone is said to be the Motorola P40. A new leak reveals key specs of the upcoming Motorola P40. The Motorola P40 will be the successor to Motorola P30 smartphone and it might arrive at international markets as an Android One device.

The leak suggests that the Motorola P40 will follow the trend and come with a punch hole display or in display selfie camera hole like the Samsung Galaxy A8s, Honor View 20 and others. The leak also reveals that the Motorola P40 will have pretty slim bezels on all sides. Well, considering the leaked specs of the Motorola P40, it looks like that the phone could prove to be a game changer for the company. 2018 wasn't a great year for Motorola hence the company will leave no stone unturned to get back to the competition in 2019.

Motorola P40 Leaked Specs Suggest Snapdragon 675 SoC Underneath

The leak reveals some of the key specs of the phone. It suggests that the Motorola P40 will come with punch hole display and the bezels of the phone will be much slimmer than any of the Motorola phones launched so far. The leak further reveals that the Motorola P40 use a dual camera setup on the rear panel where the primary sensor will be of 48MP. Xiaomi is also gearing up to launch a 48MP camera phone on January 10 in China. The Motorola P40 is expected to sport a 5MP secondary sensor for depth shots on the rear panel.

The specs of the Motorola P40 have been leaked by a Twitter who goes by the name Andri Yatim. The leak reveals that the Motorola phone will launch running on Google's latest Android 9 Pie software, As far as the other specs are concerned the Motorola P40 is expected to come with a 6.2-inch Full HD+ IPS display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The leak suggests that the Motorola P40 will come in two variants -- the base model with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage while the second model with 6GB RAM + 128GB of internal storage. It could be the successor to Motorola One Power which was launched in India.

Motorola P40 to Have a 48MP Rear Camera

On the camera front, the Motorola P40 is expected to sport a primary camera of 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a secondary camera of a 5MP sensor with f/1.75 aperture. On the front for clicking selfies the phone is said to sport a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The selfie camera of the Motorola phone is said to come packed with lots of AI features. The phone will be backed by a 4130mAh battery.
