Motorola, the Lenovo-owned company, has launched the upper mid-range and most affordable Moto Z2 series smartphone, the Moto Z2 Play in India last week. The Moto Z2 Play succeeds the last year’s Moto Z Play and is a modular smartphone. At the time of launch, Motorola said that it would be available to purchase from Flipkart and all the offline stores across the country from June 15. And the smartphone can be purchased from Flipkart for Rs. 27,999 starting today.

The highlight of the Moto Z2 Play is the Moto Mods support. Along with the Z2 Play, Motorola also unveiled few Moto Mods such as JBL SoundBoost 2, Moto Turbo Battery Mod, Moto Gaming Pad, etc. Flipkart is offering the device at zero EMI rate and also providing 55 percent discount on some Moto Mods with the phone.
The Moto Z2 Play competes against the likes of Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro, but it wins the race with the Moto Mods support and unique design. The Moto Z2 Play is one of the thinner smartphone available in the market right now at 5.9mm. The first Moto Z Play came with a thickness of 6.9mm.
To achieve the thickness, Motorola trimmed down the battery size in the phone. The Z2 Play comes with a smaller 3000mAh battery with support for Turbo Charging technology. Motorola has powered the smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chip, clubbed with a 2.2GHz octa-core CPU. The CPU is backed by the Adreno 510 GPU for graphics and other intensive tasks.
