Gionee has been widening its market share in India by releasing new devices every now and then and its Elife series has seen pretty successful in India. New is that the company has now launched its two new smartphones in the Indian market. One of them is its Elife E7 device while the other is Elife E7 mini. The Elife E7 will be the flagship of the company in the country and has been launched at a starting price of Rs 26,999.

Gionee-e7It will be made available in 2 variants, with one of them being a 16GB memory and 2GB RAM variant which has been priced at Rs 26,999 while the 32GB memory variant with 3GB RAM has been priced at Rs 29,999.

Let us have a look at some of the key features and specifications of the Gionee Elife E7 handset:

Built: This handset comes with the following dimensions 150.6 x 75.0 x 9.5 mm. Its weight is approximately 150 grams. The device feels pretty strong to hold and does not look cheap at all.

Display: It features an IPS OGS Full HD capacitive 5.5 inch touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and provides 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with a pixel density of 401 ppi. The smartphone has pretty vivid screen and the added protection gives you a peace of mind.

Processor: Elife E7 has been powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU which is currently the best pair available in the smartphones so you can safely expect a performance level at par with the other flagships.

Operating System: This smartphone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and seeing the fact that Gionee seems pretty serious about its future Indian prospects, we think that it might get updated to Android 4.4 KitKat as well.

Camera: This handset features a 16 mega pixel primary camera with auto focus, LED flash and 1080p video recording, and a secondary camera of 8 mega pixels. The camera unit is the best one on paper and you can expect a decent image quality from it.

Memory: The Gionee Elife E7 comes with a RAM of 2 GB/3 GB and 16 GB/32 GB inbuilt storage space. It does not offer expandable memory.

Connectivity Features: The connectivity options offered by this device are Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct, micro USB, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, 2G EDGE, 3G and 4G.

Other Features: This handset comes with FM Radio, a 3.5 mm audio jack, ambient light sensor proximity sensor, accelerometer and features 3 microphones with noise cancellation. Elife E7 will be available in Ceramic white, Meteor Black, Orange, Red, Green and Blue colors.

Battery: This device will work on a non removable battery of 2500 mAh capacity.

Price: The Gionee Elife E7 has been launched at a price of Rs. 26,999/29,999.

Our Take: Gionee Elife E7 is a very desirable gadget with some very awesome functional essential features along with a wide array of useful services. It is like to do well in the market. It can give any other flagship a run for its money but the bone of contention is that its price comes pretty close to other flagships. Will you shell out this much for a Gionee device or put in some extra bucks and buy a S4 or a Nexus 5?
