Android One handsets in Indonesia were first in the line to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. Now, the update is being rolled out to the Micromax Canvas A1 handsets in India. Interestingly, it is an Android 5.1 update, which means that the Android 5.0 update has been completely skipped.

Micromax Canvas A1The much-awaited update has been labelled as LMY471, and it comes in 409.8MB of size over-the-air with all the stock Lollipop features. Last month, Google had confirmed that Android Lollipop would be rolled out to the Android One handsets in India on a gradual basis, with random selection of devices weekly. Even though the phones are apparently being selected randomly, but being connected over a Wi-Fi network might just increase your chance of receiving the update.

In order to check that whether your Android One has received the update, simple go to Settings – About Phone – System updates, will let you be aware if the update has been initiated in your region.
