Following Bharti Airtel's latest move to offer unlimited local, STD calling minutes and data in a bundled pack; Aircel has now introduced similar kind of prepaid combo packs for their customers. The fifth largest telecom operator has launched these new packs in Kolkata & West Bengal circles.
The Maxis owned telecom company has been offering unlimited on net local & STD calls for quite some time now, but this time Aircel voice subscribers can recharge with the new vouchers to get the unlimited calling benefits to all operator’s networks. Also for data needs the company is also offering free 3G data with these packs.
As an example, Aircel customers in Kolkata now can do a recharge with newer denominations like Rs. 649 which will offer unlimited calls to any local number for 28 days that too with 1 GB 3G data. While those who prefer lower validity packs can top up with Rs. 349 to get unlimited voice calling and 500 MB data for 14 days.
Details of newly launched packs for Kolkata circle:
- Rs. 649 - Unlimited Local Calls + 1 GB 3G data for 28 days.
- Rs. 349 - Unlimited Local Calls + 512 MB 3G data for 14 days.
The company has also slashed rates of unlimited on net calling pack by 25% for the circle where it has almost 40 million customers on the network. Aircel prepaid customers can now avail unlimited Aircel calls at Rs. 299 as opposed to earlier pricing of Rs. 398. Though validity of the pack remains unchanged.

- Old Price - Rs. 397
- New Price - Rs. 299
- Validity - 28 Days (Unchanged)
- Benefits - Unlimited Local Aircel calls.
- Changes - Price cut by 25%.
Similarly, the company has introduced new unlimited voice packs in West Bengal circle to attract those customers who use higher volume of voice calls for their needs. In Bengal circle where the company has improved their coverage in the last few months after RCom's GSM shutdown, it now offers unlimited local calls to any mobile number at Rs. 597 while those who need unlimited STD calls can recharge with Rs. 999 to avail free calls to any mobile number in the country. Both these data packs also come with 1 GB data loaded with the unlimited benefits for 28 days.
Details of newly launched packs for West Bengal circle:
- Rs. 597 - Unlimited Local Mobile Calls + 1 GB 3G data for 28 days.
- Rs. 999 - Unlimited Local + STD Mobile Calls + 1 GB 3G data for 28 days.
- Rs. 527 - Unlimited Local + STD Aircel Mobile Calls + 1 GB 3G data for 28 days.
Compared to Airtel's new 'myPlan Infinity' which got launched two days back, these packs from Aircel are much cheaper and cost 40% less. Also, compared to Airtel's network, Aircel now offers better coverage in these two circles. Though the offer isn't available in all circles and the company is yet to announce such plans for few other markets where they have a good network & subscriber base.
