Aircel Crosses The 50 Million Customer Mark

AIRCEL, India's leading GSM Mobile services provider, today said that it has achieved the 50 million customer mark. This landmark has catapulted Aircel into the club of top mobile operators in the world in terms of subscriber base.

Aircel is a full-fledged national mobile service operator with over 50 million GSM customers and more than 9% market share, adding approximately 1.8 million subscribers each month. Aircel has strong hold and also leader in 4 operating circles of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Assam, North East and has 3G spectrum and broadband wireless access (BWA) in 13 out of India's 22 telecom circles.




Aircel’s rapid and well-managed growth in India has garnered multiple awards such as, the Brand Leadership Award by the World Brand Congress 2009, Best Employer Brand & Innovation in HR & Best Strategy in line with Business by the World HRD Congress 2009 to name a few. Aircel received the ‘3rd Most Admired Telecom Brand’ accolade from Drizzlin Media a Brand 2.0 consultancy.
