Vodafone Idea (Vi), India’s third-largest operator, struggling to arrest wireless subscriber loss, says 2024 was a year full of incredible milestones, achievements, and unforgettable moments. Vi thanked its customers for being a part of its remarkable journey. In a post on the social platform X, Vi stated that the operator is ready to embrace 2025 with “fresh energy, bold aspirations, and limitless possibilities!”
Let’s take a look at what Vi shared in a video highlighting its milestones in 2024. Firstly, Vi welcomed viewers with a message: “2024, a landmark year for Vi, defined by growth, innovation, and commitment to making a difference.”
Here’s a glimpse of everything Vi shared in its video:
1. India’s Largest FPO
In 2024, Vi said it “demonstrated trust, confidence, and growth potential, raising Rs 18,000 crores in India’s largest Follow-on Public Offer. A testament to the trust placed by our stakeholders and the strength of our vision for India’s future.”
“We continued our journey of strengthening India’s connectivity,” Vi added in the video.
2. Enhanced 4G Network Capacity
“With 46,000 new 4G sites and enhanced capacity at over 58,000 locations, Vi delivered faster, more reliable network experiences nationwide,” Vi stated.
“We celebrated the power of connectivity in bridging gaps and building connections. Our campaign ‘Be Someone’s We’ brought this vision to life, with 100 towers added every hour.”
However, the campaign video reads, “Adding 100 towers every hour.”
3. Vi Highlighted Opensignal’s 4G Network Experience
In the video, Vi also highlighted its 4G network experience.
“As per Opensignal’s 4G Network Experience Report, November 2024, Vi emerged as the top 4G network for 4G users across all six experience categories nationally,” Vi said, citing categories such as 4G video and live video, gaming, download and upload speeds, and voice app performance.
Vi also referenced two media reports that highlighted this achievement in Karnataka, and the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles.
The first article, published on December 17, 2024, by Passionate in Marketing, is titled “Vi ranks #1 in 4G Experience in Karnataka in Opensignal Report.” The second, from Deccan Chronicle on December 18, 2024, is titled “Opensignal Ranks Vodafone Idea No.1 in 4G Experience in AP, Telangana.”
“At the heart of our efforts lies our commitment to our customers. This year, we introduced game-changing propositions, from secure communication to seamless entertainment, ensuring a world-class digital experience for all,” Vi continued in the video.
Vi highlighted several of its services in the video, including Vi Game to Fame, Vi Guarantee, Vi One, Spam SMS identification solution, and the all-new avatar of Vi Moves and the TV app.
Industry-first offerings such as the Vi Superhero Plan (offering half-day unlimited data), Cloud Play on the Vi app (allowing mobile games to be played without downloading or installing), international roaming packs across Central Asia (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan), and the enhanced REDX plan were also featured in the video.
5. Enterprise Solutions
Vi also highlighted news pieces about its enterprise service announcements, covered by various media outlets, titled:
“Vodafone Idea’s Enterprise Arm, Infinity Labs Team Up to Offer Indigenous SD-WAN Solution,” reported by ET Telecom.
“Vi Business Partners with PayU to Address Payment Needs of MSMEs in India,” and “Vodafone Idea Business Launches Easy+ Feature for Corporate Mobile Plans: Details,” reported by the Times of India.
Another announcement Vi highlighted includes an article titled “About 60 Percent of MSMEs Plan to Digitise Their Business Processes by 2025: Vi Study,” reported by PTI.
Vi emphasised its participation in IMC 2024, saying, “We brought the buzz and excitement to India Mobile Congress 2024 like never before!”
The video also showed pictures of customer engagement and the Minister of Communications experiencing Vi’s solutions at its stall.
Vi noted that visitors experienced Dwarka Darshan with Vi’s immersive 360-degree dome and a remote music orchestration demonstration with ultra-low-latency network technology.
