Reliance Jio's 5G FWA (fixed wireless access) service is expanding aggressively in India. The telco has reached a total AirFiber subscriber base of 4.5 million at the end of Q3 FY25. These are great numbers for Jio and have made it the leading operator in the space. Bharti Airtel is quite far behind in this department from Jio. Jio's 5G services are now live in almost every city and town in the country. This has enabled the telco to offer AirFiber services in more homes rapidly.
The interesting thing shared by Jio in the quarterly results report is that the telco is witnessing great attention for its AirFiber services from underserved towns/cities.

In the release, Jio said, "JioAirFiber has transformed the broadband connectivity in the country, especially beyond the top 1,000 cities/towns. More than 70% of incremental JioAirFiber additions are coming from these previously underserved cities/ towns. Overall pace of home connect for Jio has continued to accelerate with total installed base of ~17 million."
The best thing about Reliance Jio's AirFiber service is that it comes with free Set-Top Box (STB) with certain plans. Through this STB, users can watch OTT (over-the-top) content on the go on their TVs.
