Vietnamese operator Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Nokia have announced a new partnership to deploy 5G technology across Vietnam. The collaboration marks a step toward strengthening the long-term relationship between the two companies and enhancing Vietnam's digital infrastructure, Nokia said on Monday.

Nokia's 5G Equipment and Technology
Under the agreement, Nokia will supply 5G equipment from its AirScale portfolio, powered by the ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. This will deliver connectivity, low latency, and enhanced network capacity while reducing power consumption. Nokia will also deploy its AI-based MantaRay network management solution to improve VNPT's operational efficiency, the official release said.
VNPT said: "Collaborating with Nokia will enable VNPT to rapidly deploy a world-class 5G network and meet the growing demands of our customers in Vietnam, 5G will serve as the foundation that will drive Vietnam's economic development and societal progress, thereby accelerating its journey towards becoming a digital economy."

Local Manufacturing
Nokia is also manufacturing its 5G products locally in Vietnam, further strengthening its bond with the country, the gear vendor added.
Earlier this month, VNPT announced a collaboration with Ericsson to supply and install its radio products on VNPT's network. VNPT will initially roll out its 5G network in Vietnam's major cities, focusing on areas with a high density of VNPT mobile subscribers.
