Airtel Payments Bank, in partnership with Noise and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has unveiled a NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) - enabled smartwatch featuring an embedded RuPay chip. The announcement was made at the Global Fintech Fest 2024. Airtel Payments Bank has also showcased the prototypes of this smartwatch at the Global Fintech Fest 2024, the official release said.

Enhanced Payments and Transit Features
This launch marks the second phase of the successful partnership between Airtel Payments Bank and Noise, building on the initial efforts to redefine on-the-go payments directly from their smartwatches, the joint statement said.
This new smartwatch integrates advanced lifestyle features with NCMC's Tap and Pay technology, allowing users to conduct secure transactions and manage transit payments directly from their wrist. It supports payments at merchant locations, metro systems, buses, and parking facilities nationwide.

Airtel Payments Bank Smartwatch is designed for a dynamic lifestyle, offering a range of functionalities tailored to modern needs. It will soon be available for purchase through both online and retail platforms of the Bank, the company said.
