Finally Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular get some relief from TDSAT over a ban on 3G Roaming pacts by Department of Telecom (DoT) till 3rd January 2012.

India's Telecom Dispute Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today restrained the 3G roaming ban order by DoT on these mobile operators and asked DoT not to take any action against operators in the 3G roaming issue.

TDSAT has told Airtel, Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular to submit their 3G roaming Agreement that they signed among themselves in July 2011 to launch 3G services in non-3G circles across India.

Yesterday, The Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued a notice to Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular declaring the 3G roaming pacts as illegal and ask them stop 3G Roaming via ICRA in non 3G circles with in 24 hours as we reported.

Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular had approached the Telecom Dispute Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) to stay the telecom department's order. TDSAT will hear the case again on January 3, 2012.
