BSNL Rationalizes Its SMS Packs As Per TRAI Regulation

India's National Telecom Backbone and Pan India 3G Mobile Service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the rationalization of its SMS Packs in order to implement the TRAI's Regulations to sets a cap of 100 SMSs per day per users.

BSNL has withdrawn its all SMS pack of Rs.13, Rs.23 Rs.33, Rs.53 and introduced NEW SMS packs at Rs.32, Rs.21 , Rs.14 and Rs.53 with revised validity and 100 SMS per Day cap as per TRAI's Regulation. All existing BSNL SMS Pack users can enjoy the offerings at present tariff/ Free SMS till the expiry of the current SMS STVs activated upto 23.59 hrs of 26-09-11.




BSNL's New SMS Pack of Rs.32 will offers 1000 Local & 500 Local/National SMS FREE valid for 15 Days. While Subscriber can send 1000 Local SMS FREE (100 SMS per Day) at Rs.21 valid for 15 days. SMS Pack of Rs.14 offers all sms at 5p/SMS valid for 30 days while with SMS Pack of Rs.53 subscriber will get the benefits of 2000 Local & 1000 Local/National SMS valid for 30 days from the date of activation. All new SMS Pack comes with the cap of 100/day and will be available from 27th September 2011.

All the new SMS Pack STVs are applicable to customers while in HOME LSA & while on National Roaming across India too.The SMS STVs/SMS Packs under 2G & 3G Prepaid mobile services will not be applicable on “Blackout days”. Normal SMS charges as per plan will be applicable on “Blackout days”.

Note : The MRP of STVs/SMS Packs mentioned above may be fixed in the price band upto Rs.3(+/-) of above price considering the technical feasibility in the respective telecom circle.
