Openreach, UK's telecommunications infrastructure provider, has announced that it has reached a milestone in Wales by successfully deploying ultrafast broadband to over 700,000 homes and businesses. Openreach has announced that its investment of 210 million Euros has transformed Wales into one of Europe's top regions for high-speed and dependable broadband connectivity, resulting in a significant accomplishment.

Transforming Wales into a High-Speed Connectivity Hub
According to the official release, this investment by Openreach has resulted in more than 200,000 properties gaining access to ultrafast broadband in the past 12 months alone.
Openreach says the deployment of full-fibre broadband, offering speeds up to 16 times faster than the average UK broadband connection, marks a transformative upgrade to Wales' existing network infrastructure.
This technology not only enhances internet speeds but also significantly improves reliability, providing residents and businesses with a solid foundation for thriving in the digital economy.

Furthermore, Openreach said it joined forces with the Welsh Government to bring full-fibre broadband to Wales's most challenging and remote areas, ensuring that even the hardest-to-reach communities can benefit from improved connectivity.

According to Research conducted by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr), it is estimated that connecting all Wales residents to full-fibre broadband could generate a 2 billion Euros boost for the Welsh economy.
