LG Intros Second Android Phone Optimus GT540 In India

Android is finding its pace in India, and handset makers start a competition to capture this just-started brewing market introducing high end and budget Android solutions.

LG also starts introducing Android handsets in India along with Sony Ericsson, Acer &  Samsung. LG introduces its 2nd Android phone Optimus GT540 in India.




Earlier South Korean electronics conglomerate LG launched GW620 in India in March 2010, their 1st Android handset for India. GW620 is a slide QWERTY, touchscreen handset along with other general refinement like 5MP camera, 3G, WiFi, and powered by Android OS v1.5 (Cupcake).

This time LG comes with a budget 3G enabled Android solution. Optimus540 is a touchscreen phone powered by Android OS v1.6 (Donut), which can make you sad. The handset has most of the required features like 3Mega Pixel camera, 3G with HSDPA 7.2Mbps, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5" dedicated audio jack, A-GPS and others.

Though LG announced GT540 will be available in four color versions: black, white, silver and pink. We find Flipcart selling Optimus GT540 only in black edition at Rs 11999.LG has plans to bring more Android handsets in coming days along with a 'iPad Killer' tablet.
