Tata Sky Removes Semi-Annual and Annual Channel Packs for New Connections

Tata Sky has competed hard in the DTH industry, which has itself remained competitive in the last few months because of the introduction of the new Trai tariff regime. The DTH operator has also surpassed Dish TV, which was the former market leader to now boast of the largest subscriber market share. This means that Tata Sky has successfully managed to make the customers like its offerings just enough. In the past, it has managed to win the hearts of the customers with the launch of some attractive channel packs, well-priced offers, discounts, cashbacks and much more. However, a part of these offerings has also been the long-term plans, which a lot of subscribers opt for. These long-term plans allow the subscribers of any DTH provider to make some saving over the months as they pay in advance. For Tata Sky subscribers, the DTH operator was providing a handful of long-term plans a while back, but now Tata Sky has stopped providing these plans, and it is only offering channel packs which come can be subscribed for a month.

Tata Sky Stops Offering 6 Months and 12 Months Channel Packs

To recall, the first consumer-centric move from Tata Sky was when it had slashed the prices of its Set-Top Boxes. After the price cut, the Tata Sky Set-Top Boxes were retailing at Rs 1,399 for the SD variant, and the HD Set-Top Box was available for Rs 1,499. However, a few months back, the customers had the choice to select a semi-annual pack or annual pack with these Set-Top Boxes. This means that the subscribers getting their hands on a new Tata Sky connection could select their channel pack for 6 months or 12 months straight which would have allowed them to make savings on these channel selections. But, now Tata Sky has stopped offering these semi-annual and annual channel packs.
