Xiaomi Poco F1 to Get MIUI 10 Stable Update This Week, Android 9 Pie Coming End of This Year

To recall, Xiaomi had released the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for the Poco F1 in September. The Chinese smartphone maker has now confirmed that the Poco F1 users will get the MIUI 10 Stable build update this week. In addition to the MIUI 10 update, Xiaomi has also confirmed that the PUBG Mobile compatibility issues faced by Poco F1 users have now been fixed via an in-app software update. The Poco F1 currently runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 software with a customised Poco launcher. At the time of launching the Poco F1 in the month of August this year, the company had confirmed that the phone would get updated to MIUI 10 build very soon. Living up to its words, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the Poco F1 will get the MIUI 10 update next week.

MIUI 10 to Bring Multiple Fixes and Several New Features

To check whether you have got the MIUI 10 update or not, you'll need to head to the Settings menu of the phone and then go to the Software update section and check if there's an update available or not. If there is, before installing the update, you should ensure to back up all your data from the phone and connect the device to a Wi-Fi network.

The MIUI 10 stable update is expected to fix several issues of the Poco F1. Xiaomi is expected roll out the fix for the Ok Google issue that some Poco F1 users reported with the MIUI 9.6 update. To recall, the company has already released the fix for the OK Google issue via the MIUI 10 Global Beta update. Some Poco F1 users had reported that they don't see any app icons for incoming notifications. Xiaomi had fixed this issue in the MIUI 10 Global 8.10.17 beta update, the company also plans to bring the fix to the stable build of the software.

The MIUI 10 is expected to bring some new features to the Poco F1 including -- new version of the POCO Launcher on the Play Store, new dark mode for the app drawer, 4K 60fps video recording capability and others.

PUBG Mobile Issue Fixed

Several users had reported about PUBG Mobile compatibility issue on the Poco F1. After a few days of the complaints, Xiaomi and Tencent have fixed the issue via an in-app update. The Poco F1 users had reported that the notch of the phone covered some part of the content while playing the game, and the issue existed since the launch of Poco F1.

Poco F1 to Get Android 9 Pie Soon

The Poco F1 currently runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. Back at the launch event, Poco India team confirmed that that the smartphone will get upgraded to the next software version Android 9 Pie in Q4 2018. Xiaomi is yet to reveal details on the same. But some reports claim that the Poco F1 will get upgraded to Pie by the end of this year.
