Apple’s latest flagship phones, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max went on sale during the last week of September in India. Although people were expecting a grand entry for the phone, owing to its exorbitant price tag, the phones couldn’t garner impressive sales number unlike it has been the case in the last few years. However, the most affordable iPhone in the entire line up of 2018, the iPhone XR is also set to go on sale only a few days later, and that is expected to make things better for Apple. Initially, the iPhone XR went live for pre-orders on leading e-commerce stores in India, and now the phone has also been made available on Vodafone Idea online stores as well. Under this sale, Vodafone and Idea Cellular customers will be able to get their hands on some attractive offers.

Is the iPhone XR Worth the Hype?

It is no doubt that the iPhone XR is the most affordable of all the newly launched iPhones. The first variant of the iPhone XR with 64GB storage variant comes for Rs 76,900, while the second variant with 128GB storage is available for Rs 81,900. The third and the highest option of the iPhone XR which comes with 256GB storage retails for Rs 91,900. Although the phone does not directly compare with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max on all fronts, it does come with the A12 Bionic chipset which means that it is going to perform far superior as compared to its other competitors in the same price range.

As for the camera and imaging, the iPhone XR comes with a 12MP camera with a f/1.8 aperture lens, Smart HDR, OIS, Portrait Lighting, and a Portrait mode with advanced bokeh as well as depth control. Additional features of the iPhone XR include the TrueDepth camera which enables the Face ID and support for eSIM support. The iPhone XR is also expected to be better than the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max in terms of battery life.

The phone also offers much more colour options as compared to its other close relatives. The iPhone XR is available in Black, White, Coral, Blue, Yellow, or Red colours but it comes with a slightly underwhelming IP67 rating, while still being dust and water resistant.

The iPhone XR does not come with an OLED display. Instead, the phone sports the Liquid Retina HD display that has been touted to be the most advanced LCD in the market. The display renders a resolution of 828 x 1792 pixels, and it comes with a 6.1-inch span. The pixel density on this screen is 326 pixels per inch. Being an Apple device, the colour reproduction on this screen has also been claimed to be of impeccable quality.
