After an array of leaks and rumours, Oppo has finally made the R15x official in its homeland China. The Oppo R15x is yet another smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and in-display fingerprint scanner from Oppo. Very recently, the BBK Electronics-owned company launched the Oppo K1 handset in China and the specifications of Oppo R15x is quite identical to the K1, except for the colour options the new model ships with. The Oppo R15x has a teardrop notch on top of the display, same as the Oppo F9 Pro and the upcoming OnePlus 6T. Also, the smartphone has decent hardware underneath which makes it a worthy mid-range handset and also keeps in competition with the likes of Xiaomi Mi A2, Nokia 7 Plus in China.

Oppo R15x: Specifications and Features
Moving onto the specifications, the Oppo R15x has a large 6.4-inch Full HD+ display on the front which carries a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and has a 2.5D curved glass on top. Both the front and rear glass panels are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass technology. Under the hood, the Oppo R15x ships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset, clubbed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Notably, Oppo launched the R15x in only one variant which is understandable since the Oppo K1 comes in various configurations. Users can also expand the storage up to 256GB with the help of hybrid microSD card slot.
The phone comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.1 laid on top. Oppo is yet to launch a smartphone with Android 9 Pie and is yet to update an existing smartphone to the latest iteration of Android. This Dual SIM smartphone offers connectivity options such as Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a USB Type-C port is present on the bottom side.
