As Google announced at its Made for India event last month, Airtel smartphone users will now be able to get instant answers to their frequent account related queries through the Google Assistant. This essentially means Airtel prepaid, postpaid users will be able to know their data balance by issuing a query ‘what is my data balance’ to Google Assistant, and the virtual assistant will answer the query. To achieve this, Bharti Airtel has collaborated with search giant Google in yet another industry first to simplify its customer service experience by integrating its customer care with the Artificial Intelligence-powered Google Assistant.

Airtel Users Can Have Rich Conversational Experiences With Google Assistant
As mentioned above, Airtel users with a smartphone and Google Assistant will be able to get their basic questions answered by the AI-powered assistant. Right now, these features are available in the English language, but in a press statement, Airtel confirmed that it would roll out the same queries in multiple regional languages to deliver an even more personalised experience to millions of Indians and encourage them to get online.
Similarly, Airtel will continue to track what questions customer are asking and enable responses to them via Google Assistant, thus improving the flexibility and robustness of the Airtel voice Action.
Airtel stated that this initiative is part of the company’s Project Next digital innovation programme which is aimed at transforming customer experience across all of its services and touch points.
Sarang Kanade, Director, Customer Experience & Retail, Bharti Airtel said: “As part of our digital transformation journey, this is another yet innovation to empower our customers. With smartphones fast becoming the norm for every Indian, this will make digital self-care much more interactive and step up the customer experience. We will continue to bring more of such exciting solutions for ‘Digital India’.”
