Samsung Galaxy Tab S4: Features and Specifications

The Galaxy Tab S4 offers high-end specifications. Starting off with the core hardware, the Tab S4 ships with a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display which has an aspect ratio of 16:10. The Tab S4 is a direct successor to the Tab S3 which was introduced in 2017. The new Tab S4 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset underneath, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The tablet also rocks a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 400GB.

The tablet runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience UI on top. And it's armed with a massive 7300mAh battery.

There are a couple of features which makes the Galaxy Tab S4 unique. First off, the Tab S4 comes with Samsung S Pen support and notably, it was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 9 back in August this year. And this Android tablet comes equipped with Samsung DeX support; For the unaware, Samsung DeX optimises the user experience for work situations and gives what they want from a PC experience- a big screen, a full-size keyboard and a mouse. There's a new Standalone mode, with which one can enjoy a PC-like interface even without a monitor or the "Book Cover" Keyboard. And in Dual Mode, users can connect the tablet to a bigger monitor with an HDMI adapter, same as how the Galaxy Note 9 users make use of the DeX functionality.

For multimedia lovers, the Galaxy Tab S4 also offers four speakers tuned by AKG and Dolby Atmos immersive sound technology. "Paired with Samsung Dex and S Pen, Galaxy Tab S4 is designed for those who need something portable like a tablet yet capable like a PC," Aditya Babbar, General Manager, Mobile Business, Samsung India, told reporters here.

The redesigned S Pen offers an authentic handwriting experience - suitable for drawing, taking notes, and messaging.

The Galaxy Tab S4 will be available from Thursday onwards in black and grey colours on Samsung Online Shop and leading offline retail stores, the South Korean tech giant said, adding that it will also be available on Amazon from October 20 onwards. Those with HDFC Bank credit cards will be able to avail an introductory offer that lets consumers get Rs 5,000 cashback on purchase of Galaxy Tab S4.
