Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Likely to Launch in India This Week Around Rs 60,000

South Korean smartphone company, Samsung will likely launch the Galaxy Tab S4 tablet in India this week at a price of Rs 60,000. The Galaxy Tab S4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and has S Pen support too. To recall, the Tab S4 was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone back in August this year. Notably, the Galaxy Note 9 was launched in India right after the global launch at a price of Rs 68,990. Speaking about the Tab S4, it has Samsung DeX docking station support, Super AMOLED display, quad speakers and a massive 7300mAh battery. Samsung is introducing this tablet in India this late to grab some strong sales during the festive season.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4: India Launch Details With Pricing

The 2-in-1 Android tablet was launched globally in August before the unveiling of Galaxy Note 9. Industry sources told IANS on Tuesday that Samsung delayed the India launch of Galaxy Tab S4 to cash in on the festive season. The move is aimed at growing faster than the industry growth rate of 20-25% expected during the festive season, the sources added. According to the industry sources, the device with better specifications and features is aimed at taking on Apple's iPad Pro and Microsoft's Surface tablet which are priced on the higher side.

According to the International Data Corporation's (IDC) tablet tracker for Q2 2018, Samsung Electronics grabbed the second spot by shipping 5.3 million units, after Apple. The report added that Samsung is looking to price the device around Rs 60,000.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4: Features and Specifications

Moving onto the specifications, the Galaxy Tab S4 features a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display, carrying a resolution of 1600x2560 pixels. The tablet boasts of quad speakers and Samsung has added various entertainment features. Also, as mentioned above, the DeX feature helps consumers enjoy a PC-like interface even without a monitor and S Pen can be used to draw and take notes, among other things.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, clubbed with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. Cameras wise, the Tab S4 has a single 13MP shooter on the back along with an 8MP front-facing camera. Both the cameras offer 1080p video recording.

The Galaxy Tab S4 comes with a whopping 7300mAh battery. It has entertainment features like high PPI displays, quad speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Connectivity options on the handset include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port. The phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI.
