Taiwanese smartphone company, Asus recently sent out media invites for an event to be held on October 17 in New Delhi. Until now, there has been no confirmation from the brand on what it's going to launch, but it has now revealed officially on Twitter that two new Asus Zenfone smartphones will make their debut in India. Notably, these are 'India First' smartphones from the company, meaning Asus is holding a global launch of the two upcoming smartphones in India. Also, both the phones will be exclusive to Flipkart in the country, meaning they'll be priced aggressively to take on the competition. That being said, we must rule out the fact that the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be launched at the event as Asus will build a lot of hype around the smartphone because it's the company's most successful smartphone till date.

Two New Zenfones Incoming: What to Expect?

As mentioned above, it's unknown what Asus will be launching on October 17 event, but we might see the much-awaited Asus Zenfone 5 making its way to the Indian market finally. The Zenfone 5 was launched back at the MWC 2018 event in Barcelona, but it did not reach Indian shores, thanks to the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. The Asus Zenfone 5 features a gorgeous glass sandwich design and has the powerful Snapdragon 636 chipset, clubbed with up to 6GB of RAM. The phone also rocks dual cameras on the rear side along with a single front-facing camera.

Asus did not launch the Zenfone 5 in India due to some unknown reasons, but we might see the phone making way to the country on October 17. Asus will likely make up for the late arrival with its aggressive pricing.

In the teaser image posted by Asus on Twitter, there's a device in the background with rounded corners, metal frame and possibly an 18:9 display. Again, we're not sure what Asus is bringing to the country.

Asus Enjoyed Tremendous Success With Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone 5Z

This year, Asus launched two smartphones in India- the mid-range Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and the flagship Asus Zenfone 5Z. Both the smartphones were the cheapest ones to launch with Snapdragon 636 and Snapdragon 845 chipsets respectively. While the Zenfone Max Pro M1 continues to be the cheapest Snapdragon 636 smartphone, the Zenfone 5Z gave the crown away to Poco F1. Asus recently confirmed that it sold one million units of Zenfone Max Pro M1 since the launch. Although it did not reveal the numbers of the Zenfone 5Z, the phone is said to be doing well in the country.

Asus Zenfone Event on October 17: Where to Watch?

The Asus event will be held on October 17 in New Delhi at 12:30 PM IST along with a live stream so that many people across India and the globe will be able to watch the launch of the product. We're expecting Asus to price both the smartphones aggressively in the country to take on the competition.
