Bharti Airtel has come up with yet another combo recharge plan priced under Rs 100 to take on Reliance Jio and BSNL. Airtel has silently introduced a prepaid combo plan of Rs 97 offering SMS, data and voice calling benefits for a month. This new plan from Airtel is valid across all the 22 telecom circles in India, but the voice calling benefit differs slightly. Airtel introduced this plan to take on Jio's Rs 98 prepaid plan, but it falls short of the competition as Airtel is limited the voice calls. In addition, the Rs 97 recharge pack from Airtel clashes with the company's own Rs 99 prepaid plan. However, the latter is valid for ten days as an open market plan and for some users, it gives benefits for 28 days. But the Rs 97 plan is an open market plan, which means that any customer can head over to the My Airtel app or website or any other retail point to get the recharge done.
Bharti Airtel Rs 97 Combo Recharge Plan: Benefits and Validity
Delving into the benefits offered by the new Airtel Rs 97 Combo Recharge, users will get a total of 21000 seconds or 350 minutes of local, STD & roaming voice calling. Alongside the calling benefit, users will also receive 1.5GB of 3G/4G data and 200 local+STD SMS valid for a period of 28 days.
While the plan offers 350 minutes of voice calling in most of the circles, in some circles such as Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, users will get 300 minutes or 18000 seconds of voice calling for a period of 28 days.
Bharti Airtel Rs 97 Prepaid Recharge vs Airtel Rs 99 Recharge
As mentioned above, Airtel is also offering a prepaid recharge of Rs 99, which clashes with the Rs 97 plan. Nevertheless, the major difference between both the plans is the Rs 97 plan's open market availability. Yes, you heard it right, Airtel has unveiled the Rs 97 plan as an open market one, but the Rs 99 plan is being offered as a segmented one.
For some users, the Rs 99 prepaid recharge gives a total of unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 100 SMS per day and 2GB of data for ten days and for some users, the same plan is applicable for 28 days. That said, the Rs 97 plan offers the same validity of 28 days to every user.
How Airtel's Rs 97 Plan Fares Against Jio's Rs 98 Plan?
As the price of the plan itself suggests, Airtel introduced its Rs 97 combo recharge to take on Jio's best plan under Rs 100, which is the Rs 98 plan. At Rs 98, the Mukesh Ambani-owned Jio is giving unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 2GB of 4G data and 300 SMSes for a period of 28 days. Having said that, Jio's plan of Rs 98 is also an open market one, which again clashes with Airtel's Rs 97 recharge.
Airtel Also Launched Rs 35, Rs 65 and Rs 95 Combo Recharge Plans With 28 Days Validity
In other news, Airtel also launched a total of three combo recharge plans of Rs 365, Rs 65 and Rs 95 under Rs 100 offering a validity of 28 days. However, Airtel is not offering benefits as good as the Rs 97 plan or the Rs 99 plan with the three combo plans.
The Rs 35 prepaid combo recharge by Airtel avails a user 100MB of 3G/4G data, talk time of Rs 26 and caps the voice calls (local+STD) at one paise per second. The Rs 65 recharge offers 200MB of data, talk time of Rs 65 and brings down the local+STD call rates to one paise per second. Lastly, the Rs 95 combo recharge provides a user with 500MB of 3G/4G data, talk time of Rs 95 and calls will be charged at one paise per 2 seconds. All the three plans are valid for 28 days from the date of recharge.
