While Airtel's focus might be winning on the content part against Reliance Jio, it's not standing back in the tariff plans department as well. Airtel has now started offering 3GB of 4G data for select customers at just Rs 49. But the validity of the plan is just one day, and it's a prepaid plan and not valid for postpaid users. As seen with many of Airtel's prepaid plans, this data pack is also valid for select users across the country. And for all the users, Airtel is offering 1GB of data with the Rs 49 data plan. If you want to check the eligibility of this plan, head over to My Airtel application or Airtel website and enter your mobile number to get all the offers available on your number.
As stated, Airtel used to offer the Rs 49 plan earlier as well and is still offering the plan for every Airtel customer, but the data benefit is 1GB only. With the new offer, the data benefit has been changed to 3GB data. But the validity of the plan is still one day, which is underwhelming, but this plan will be useful for users who're travelling for a day or so.
And the best part is the data benefit is 4G/3G and not 2G. Besides the Rs 49 data pack, Airtel also has a couple of other attractive data plans under Rs 100. A while back, we reported Airtel's Rs 65 data pack that offered 1GB of 4G/3G data for 28 days and the leading telco is also providing a Rs 98 data pack, under which it's providing users 5GB of 4G/3G data for 28 days.
Like always, the Rs 65 and Rs 98 data packs are also valid for select users, not open market plans. That being said, for the users looking for open market plans, Airtel has a bunch of them such as Rs 199, Rs 249, Rs 349, Rs 399, Rs 448 and Rs 509 plans. The Rs 199, Rs 399, Rs 448 and Rs 509 prepaid plans offer unlimited voice calls, 1.4GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for 28 days, 70/84 days, 82 days and 90 days respectively. The newly introduced prepaid plan of Rs 249 gives 2GB data per day for all the users, while the Rs 349 plan is now offering 3GB data per day for all the Airtel prepaid users across the country.
