Asus will launch a Snapdragon 845 chipset smartphone running Android 8.0 Oreo very soon. A new Asus smartphone with ASUS Z01RD model number today benchmarked on AnTuTu revealing the key specifications of the phone. The device achieved 238129 score in the benchmark, which falls short by a whopping 40000 points when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S9's 265267 score on AnTuTu benchmark. Also, the benchmarked Asus phone has 6GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The size of the screen is not revealed, but it will come with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels, meaning it will be an 18:9 display.

The smartphone in question could be the Asus Zenfone 5z, which was recently reported to be the only Asus smartphone to come with Snapdragon 845 chipset. Back then, the release of the Zenfone 5z will reportedly happen in June this year. But this benchmark leak now suggests the launch of the phone is imminent.

Asus has already scheduled a launch event for the Mobile World Congress 2018 event where the Taiwanese brand is expected to unveil a plethora of Asus Zenfone 5 smartphones. The smartphones in question are the standard Zenfone 5 (two variants), selfie-centric Zenfone 5 models and a couple of Zenfone 5 Max smartphones. Now, the newly benchmarked flagship Asus device joins the list.

Like every year, Asus is expected to launch two Zenfone 5 models at the event with different screen sizes. The smaller Zenfone 5 is nearly confirmed to come with Snapdragon 636 chipset while the bigger Zenfone 5 is rumoured to come with the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 670 chipset. Also, a Zenfone 5 Lite smartphone with quad cameras will make an appearance at the event too.

The Asus Zenfone 5 variants will come with a notch at the top as per a manual leak and a real-life image leak. However, the notch will not be as bigger as the one seen on the Apple iPhone X, and it will house the earpiece and front-facing camera. Asus might launch the Zenfone 5 models in India at a later date, maybe in Q2 2018.
