Bharti Airtel has come up with an excellent scheme to lure the postpaid customers. Airtel is now allowing its postpaid users to add new child members and they can enjoy the same benefits as the parent at no additional cost. The telco is calling this scheme as 'Add On Connections.' And a customer can add other postpaid customers depending on the plan they're subscribed to. For example, Airtel is offering a single Add On connection with the Rs 799 postpaid plan, meaning a parent on this plan can add a single person as add on share the subscribed Rs 799 plan.
And the voice calls are unlimited to the add on users. Talking about the data benefit, the same Rs 799 plan's data benefit will be shared between both the users. And there's no specific FUP for the data usage between the users.
While the Rs 799 plan gives a single add on benefit, the Rs 1,199 allows the users to add a maximum of two add on connections, meaning all the benefits will be shared between three people now. As of now, we don't have information on the maximum add ons for the plans priced above Rs 1,199. Airtel clearly states that the voice calls are unlimited for add on users.
Wait, doesn't that sound similar to earlier Airtel Family Share scheme? Well, it's almost the same, but with this, Airtel is offering truly unlimited voice calls at no additional cost. But in the Airtel Family Share scheme, a parent can add a child at Rs 99 to share the Family plan benefits. And there are no charges involved for adding a new postpaid user too, which differentiates this scheme from the Airtel Family Share scheme.
This was coming for quite sometime as most of the Airtel postpaid users (well, not only Airtel postpaid users) are converting their connection to prepaid, thanks to the recent prepaid plan changes from the telcos. Of course, there's no reason for staying in postpaid at the moment as prepaid tariff plans offer much better benefits at lower prices.
But Airtel is making users stay in postpaid with these moves. The company recently introduced rental discount on all the postpaid plans, and now the telco has come up with this excellent move.
Let's make the scenario. For around Rs 699 (Rs 100 rental discount on the Rs 799 plan), Airtel is now offering unlimited voice calls for two numbers and 50GB of data with data rollover scheme.
