Exclusive: Bharti Airtel Started Offering 1GB Data Per Day With the Rs 199 Unlimited Combo Open Market Plan

After being silent for a couple of weeks, Airtel is back with another massive change to counter the incumbent telecom operators. As you all might be aware of, Airtel has a Rs 199 unlimited combo base tariff plan for prepaid customers which goes against Reliance Jio's Rs 149 tariff plan. Airtel has now revised the Rs 199 plan, and it now offers 1GB data per day, instead of the earlier 1GB data for the entire validity period.

Airtel Rs 199 Unlimited Combo Plan

And the best part is the plan is an open market one, meaning any Airtel prepaid customer across the country can simply recharge the plan and enjoy the benefits.

To recap, Airtel introduced this Rs 199 tariff plan back in October 2017 with an aim to offer unlimited voice calls and 1GB data. The plan now offers unlimited voice calls including national roaming calls, 100 SMS per day, and more importantly 1GB data per day. This pack is valid for 28 days.

In contrast, Reliance Jio has a Rs 149 tariff plan which offers unlimited voice calls including national roaming calls, 0.15GB data per day, and 300 SMS for the entire validity period of 28 days. That said, Jio is offering just 4.2GB data, while Airtel is offering 28GB data. Also, Airtel has 1GB data limit when compared to the 150MB limit of Reliance Jio.

Another highlighted part of this plan from Airtel is the unlimited voice calls. Airtel has recently removed the 300 minutes voice calls limit, and there's no limit for voice calls with the Rs 199 plan or any other Airtel unlimited combo plan. This is also in-line with competing Reliance Jio and its unlimited lifetime voice calls scheme.

With this massive change, Airtel is giving little hope for the postpaid users to stay on the network. Airtel's postpaid plans start at Rs 399, and the prepaid unlimited combo plans start at just Rs 199. Reliance Jio now has to worry a bit as incumbent operators are raising the bar.
