Japanese electronics company Panasonic has launched a new Flipkart exclusive smartphone in the Indian market. The Panasonic Eluga I9 is the last addition to the Panasonic Eluga range of lineup and is priced at Rs 7,499. The primary highlight of the Eluga I9 is the support for Panasonic Arbo AI assistant. This device boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and Panasonic did not reveal any Oreo update plans for the smartphone. Rest of the specifications are mediocre. Like earlier Panasonic smartphone, the Eluga I9 also comes powered by the MediaTek MT6737 chipset, clubbed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The Eluga I9 comes in just one variant, and there's no 2GB RAM and 16GB storage option. Storage in the smartphone can be expanded up to 128GB with the help of a microSD card. Panasonic has added a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720*1280 pixels resolution.

Regarding the launch, Pankaj Rana, the Business Head of Mobility Division at Panasonic India stated, "The new generation smartphone Eluga I9 fits perfectly into the users hands and gives a good grip. It is a blend of great style, powerful performance, and quality entertainment experience.

Cameras in the smartphone include a 13MP rear camera with LED flash support and a 5MP selfie camera, which also comes with an LED flash support. The inbuilt camera app offers several modes such as panorama, burst mode, etc. It doesn't come with any manual mode though. A fingerprint sensor is present at the back of the phone, below the rear camera module.

Connectivity options in the Eluga I9 are 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port. This entire package is backed by a mere 2500mAh battery, which as per Panasonic will offer eight hours of video playback. Sadly, competitors of the Eluga I9 offers a much bigger battery than. For example, the Redmi 4 has a 4100mAh battery.

Overall, Panasonic has launched yet another disappointing smartphone in the Indian market.
