The mid-range segment has some fantastic options for enthusiasts who wouldn’t want to spend a fortune on a flagship. In fact, buying mid-range smartphones make much more sense as the price of high-end flagships drop almost half in six months or so.

Honor 8 Pro

Although it doesn’t come with ultra-thin bezels, it is a decent option for those interested in dual camera features. It comes with 12MP (monochrome) + 12MP (RGB) sensors with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording capabilities.

Other specs include a 5.7-inch QHD display with 515PPI pixel density, quad-core Kirin 960 SoC, 6GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage and microSD slot for memory expansion up to 128GB. A 4000mAh nonremovable battery powers the dual-SIM smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S7

If you are thinking of getting the new Galaxy S8, let me stop you right there. Instead, go for the older Galaxy S7 and save your money. Both the devices are essentially the same, save for the new bezel-less display design. This feature, however, comes with a downside for the display is easily breakable.

A 12MP camera is present at the back along with an 8MP front-facing camera. The device is backed by a 2770mAh battery.

Oppo F5

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo debuted its all-new Oppo F5 in India earlier this month. Marketed as a selfie phone, the F5 packs a huge 20MP sensor on the front with AI-powered beauty mode. Oppo F5 starts for Rs 19,990 for 4GB+32GB version while the 6GB RAM and 64 storage version goes for Rs 24,990.

Oppo F5 is powered by a MediaTek MT6763T octa-core SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM. The device features a bezel-less 6-inch full-HD+ LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There are a 20-megapixel front camera and a 16-megapixel primary sensor with dual-LED flash. The device houses a 3200mAh battery.

Apple iPhone 6S

Surely, Apple's top of the line iPhone will burn a hole in your pocket. But if Apple is your thing, you can grab the older gen iPhone 6S for a reasonable price. The 32GB iPhone 6 is now up for grabs at Rs 36,999 and paired with offers so that you can pick it for less than 35000.

These smartphones are the best ones strictly under Rs 35,000. However, if you can afford little over Rs 35,000, and looking for some alternatives to this list, you can consider the Nokia 8 for all-round performance, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 for an excellent looking smartphone, and the OnePlus 5T 8GB RAM variant for beastly performance.
