In what I would call an incredible move, Bharti Airtel has now announced 'Data Rollover' scheme for its broadband subscribers. The new scheme from Airtel works similar to its postpaid data rollover scheme which it introduced a few months back.

Under the Broadband Data Rollover scheme, Airtel broadband users can carry forward all the unused monthly data from current billing cycle to next billing cycle. This move will further enhance the value proposition for customers who're worried about their unused data being going away of no use every month. Airtel is the only ISP with such innovation in the fixed home broadband segment in India.

Airtel broadband customers can accumulate up to 1000GB data per account. In contrast, an Airtel postpaid customer can accumulate up to 500GB data per account. Maximum accumulation of 2000GB or higher would have been appreciated, but still, Airtel leads the path with this new innovation.

George Mathen, CEO – Homes, Bharti Airtel, said, “At Airtel, our constant endeavour is to deliver best in class service experience and great value to our customers. With this innovation, our home broadband users no longer have to worry about their unused data, which will always be available to them. Home broadband continues to drive the massive growth of in-home consumption of online content and the combination of Airtel V-Fiber and ‘data rollover’ will enable a truly world-class experience for today’s digital homes.”

Bharti Airtel is the second largest fixed-line broadband operator in the country with over 2.1 million subscribers. With the help of V-Fiber technology, Airtel is offering data speeds of up to 100 Mbps, and the company has operations over 87 cities across the country.

Also, customers can control their entire account usage right from the My Airtel application. This new innovation comes as part of Airtel Project Next, under which the operator is already offering several new schemes such as Next-Gen Support stores, Postpaid Data Rollover, Network Infrastructure Upgrade across the country, VoLTE implementation, and now, the broadband data rollover joins the pack.

Having said that, existing Airtel broadband customers can check the data rollover eligibility on MyAirtel app, whereas new customers looking to join Airtel broadband network will be eligible for the data rollover.
