Before its merger with Reliance Communications, Aircel is looking to compete with incumbent telecom operators with its new set of tariff plans. Yesterday, Aircel unveiled an FRC 449 plan in Jammu & Kashmir region, and today, the operator announced the same plan for North East regions.

New customers who are looking to join the Aircel network in North East can now recharge with FRC 419 plan, which provides the users 168GB of 3G data and unlimited voice calls for 84 days. Under the product, FRC 419, customers will get unlimited Local & STD calls and 168 GB of 3G/2G data (2GB per day) with a validity of 84 days.

"All Aircel customers with 2G, 3G or 4G handsets can avail this incredible offer and enjoy the best value data proposition in the region," says the company.

That said, this new offer is available only for the new customers who're looking to join the Aircel network, which is a big letdown. When you compare this plan with other telecom operators plans, they are almost similar, but Aircel is offering double data than other operators.

For example, Vodafone recently launched an FRC 445 plan offering 1GB data, and unlimited voice calls for 84 days, and Reliance Jio has an FRC 399 plan which also offers the same 1GB data per day, and unlimited voice calls for 84 days.

Having said that, Aircel is offering more data than other telecom operators, but the plan is limited to just North East users.

Nilaj Mahalanavis, Circle Operations Head, North East, Aircel, said, “Aircel has always laid focus on catering to the customer needs offering maximum value in its products and services. The new plans are a special offering of unlimited voice calls and unmatched 3G data which will empower our customers especially students and working professionals to stay connected the whole day and get an uninterrupted access to the internet with the best value for money products and enjoy the unexplored world of videos, music, movies and entertainment.”
