Nokia 5, the bigger variant of the Nokia 3 and the smaller version of the Nokia 6 will be up for preorder on Friday in the country. HMD Global, back on June 13 announced the Android powered Nokia smartphones in India revealing the preorder dates. The Nokia 3 is already available across the country and can be purchased only via offline stores in India.

The same applies to the Nokia 5 as well because it's an offline-only model priced at Rs. 12,499. The premium Nokia 6 will be available for preorder from July 14 on Amazon India for Rs. 14,999. However, HMD Global did not inform when the devices will be available for sale directly. Also, the preorder offers aren't clear at the moment.

Nokia has recently pushed the July security patch update for the Nokia 6, and it's the first phone to receive the update. The update will be rolled out to Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 devices as well in coming days. The Nokia 5 is a decent mid-range priced smartphone that has entry-level specifications on board.

The device has a 5.2-inch HD display, which is a major letdown because of other phones in the same price range feature Full HD screens. Nevertheless, the Nokia 5 is available in the offline market. The device is fuelled by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, which is an octa-core chip, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU.

The phone comes with 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Nokia has added a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and dual-LED flash. The phone comes with an 8MP front-facing camera.

The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat update and is backed by a 3000mAh battery. Connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and micro USB port. The Nokia 5 has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
