Airtel’s techQ quizzing challenge receives overwhelming response

Airtel’s techQ contest, a national level telecom and technology quiz contest, designed for engineering and technology students attracted over 1600 students from eight leading technology institutes in India, says a release from the company.

“Technical education has been a big strength for India, with Indian engineering talent today being an integral part of every top technology company in the world. techQ is Airtel’s endeavor to provide a platform to showcase and celebrate this talent and it was just amazing to see the level of awareness that the participating students brought to this platform,” said Shyam Mardikar, Chief – Strategy, Architecture & Engineering at Bharti Airtel Limited.

“We look forward to continued participation from these young minds - the future technologists, entrepreneurs, drivers of innovation – to make this event an even bigger success going forward,” he added.

This year, R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore won the contest and walked away with a cash prizes of Rs. 1 lakh. The team of students from NSIT, Delhi came out as runners and won Rs. 50,000 as prize. Other finalists included teams from IIT Roorkee, NIT Bhopal, NIT Allahabad, DTU, NSIT Delhi, and College of Engineering Guindy. The well-known quiz master Avinash Mudaliar was the moderator for the two-hour long contest. Airtel quiz contest techQ is spread over six rounds.
