Oppo has officially started teasing its rumoured smartphone, the Oppo R9. Going by the teaser video, the smartphone seems to be a camera-focused device, and the Chinese text in the teaser translates to,"This time, it is worth and other '9' point. #OPPO New camera phone R9 #.” The launch of the device is expected to happen on March 17.
Unfortunately, the company has not revealed any other information about the phone in the teaser. However, it has confirmed the existence of the device, which means that we will be witnessing a lot more new teaser in the coming weeks. In accordance with the earlier leaks, the Oppo R9 looks a lot like the iPhone 6s Plus.
Talking about the rumored specifications, the Oppo R9 will come powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset, and a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The phone is expected to feature 64GB of expandable internal storage and 3GB/4GB of RAM. In the imaging department, the device is dubbed to sport a 21-megapixel primary camera along with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Backing the Oppo R9, will be a 3700mAh of battery integrated with Super VOOC Flash Charge technology, which is expected to charge a battery from 0 to 100 percent in 15 minutes. In terms of software, the device is expected to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Moreover, as the Oppo R9 is being teased as a camera-centric smartphone, we can expect it to come with Oppo’s in-house SmartSensor Image Stabilisation. Oppo showcased the new sensor at MWC 2016, last week.
