Motorola launched the Moto X Force, a smartphone with an unbreakable display, in October. Now, Motorola’s India GM, Amit Boni revealed in an interview that the company is planning to bring the flagship smartphone to India in January. However, he didn’t reveal a set date and pricing for the Indian market. Boni also announced that the Moto G 3rd Generation and Moto X Play will receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon.
As already mentioned above, the main feature of the Moto X Force is its shatter-proof screen, which is touted by the company to last for up to four years. Motorola has integrated the phone with ‘Moto Shattershield’ technology, which combines multiple screen layers to absorb the shock and prevent it from shattering. Interestingly, the same smartphone was launched in the US as the Droid Turbo 2.
Coming on to the specifications, the Moto X Force comes with a 5.4-inch Quad HD flexible P-OLED display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM. It is available in 32GB/64GB internal storage options, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. The phone sports a 21-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. In the connectivity department, it supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is backed by a 3,760mAh battery. The Moto X Force will be available in a Black Ballistic Nylon finish with water repellent nano-coating, but it is not water-resistant. It weighs 169 grams and measures 7.6mm.
In another news, Motorola has already planned the launch of its long-awaited Moto G Turbo Edition in India on December 10.
