Reliance Jio has requested state-run telco BSNL to define Interconnection Usage Charges (IUC) for emergency calls such as 100,101,102, and 108, as the Mukesh Ambani's telecom company prepares to launch commercial services in the country shortly.
Reliance Jio will be using BSNL network for provision of Level-I services including Emergency services as per latter's letter to BSNL.
The letter sent to all BSNL telecom circles, telecom districts, and maintenance regions by the PSU’s regulation cell also noted that Reliance Jio is shortly going to launch its Access services in all the service areas in the country.
Reliance Jio has already established POIs with all the BSNL Level-I TAX, the letter said, adding that Jio would also be establishing POI with BSNL Level-II TAXs as per traffic requirement in future, the letter read.
Reliance Jio reportedly commenced the beta services of its 4G mobile services. Under the beta program, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) employees are now able to use Jio mobile services.
Under the trial, RIL employees can get free unlimited data on purchase of smartphone, which is priced between Rs 9,000 and Rs 32,000. In addition, they can buy a personal 4G Wi-Fi device, which will come with a Jio prepaid SIM and services such as 75 GB of data, public Wi-Fi, and full access to Jio’s apps worth above Rs 12,000.
Jio would roll out its 4G mobile services in selected circles after successfully completing the trial run, media reports said.
