IFA 2015 is seeing more and more major launches from the manufacturers, and joining the launching spree is Asus with its Zenfone Zoom. The device was initially announced at the CES earlier this year, and now it is being showcased for the European market.
The Zenfone Zoom comes with awe-inspiring 3x optical zoom and will be available in Ceramic White and Pure Black color variants. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 resolution, and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB or 128GB of expandable internal storage onboard, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI on top.
The main feature of the phone and what its name itself suggests, is its 13-megapixel primary camera with 3x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash, f/2.7 – f/4.8 10-element Hoya lens, and laser AF. The phone has macro-mode, which enables users to click close-up shots from a distance of 2 centimeter from the subject. Another mode is Super-resolution, which amalgamates 4 shots into a single 52-megapixel of image.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 4G LTE (Cat 4), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. It is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. As for the pricing, Asus is still keeping mum about the availability and pricing of the device. Considering the kind of response that Asus’s Zenfone series received in India, we are hopeful that the Zenfone Zoom will be launched in India soon.
