Microsoft Office 2016 now available as a public preview

Microsoft has made the Office 2016 Preview available to download for the public on Monday. It includes Office 365 subscribers (with Pro Plus), non-subscribers, and also home and enterprise users.

The company has made major changes in the interface, it has also promised real-time editing or co-authoring in the forthcoming Office 2016, which will be fresh feature and is not available in the present version. Microsoft also told The Verge that the new feature will first be unlocked in Word, while PowerPoint and Excel will receive it gradually. Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce the feature in the Android and iOS apps.




microsoft office 2016Windows 7, 8 and Windows 10 tablets, laptops and PCs support the universal preview of Office 2016, but users would be required to uninstall the Office 2013 as both versions can’t run simultaneously. Microsoft will be updating it regularly before making the final version commercially available in the fall of 2015. Interestingly, In March, the primary preview build was accessible to IT professionals and developers. As per these testers, the latest version of Office there are plenty of brand new features.

Also, Microsoft is working on Cloud Connectivity advancements in Office 2016. The fresh features in Office 2016 Preview includes, navigation support (Tell Me), right management ability, and amalgamation with Power BI.

In the past, there were also reports that Microsoft is also working on Universal Office apps for smartphones, which will function on somewhat similar codes as their desktop peers.
